Middlesbrough is a large town in North Yorkshire, England, about 43 miles (69 km) north of York. It is within the Teesside built-up area, which is centred around the River Tees and includes nearby towns such as Stockton and Redcar. The Borough of Middlesbrough is governed from the town.
